The series has received many accolades, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film, a FABTA award and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries.
“We are very excited to welcome WMHT back to the Crandell Threatre for the Season 6 premiere of Downton Abbey,” said Fred Ulrich, President of the Chatham Film Club. “This is the third time we have collaborated with them to present a free community screening and it’s exciting to share this episode with residents of Columbia County, and beyond, before it airs on PBS in January.”
Masterpiece’s Downton Abbey is the highest-rated drama in PBS history and one of the highest-rated dramas now on American television. The sixth and final season opens in 1925 with a series of crises reflecting the momentous changes that are transforming society. It premiers on WMHT TV on January 3.
