At its March meeting, the Chatham Film Club Board of Directors welcomed Susan Van Tassel as its newest member.
A Ghent native, Van Tassel owns an accounting business which serves the needs of both small non-profit organizations and area for-profit businesses. She previously spent seven years with the Columbia Land Conservancy as Accounting and Office Coordinator. Over the years, her accounting career has also taken her to the Shaker Museum and Pattison Koskey Howe & Bucci.
The mother of three boys, Van Tassel fondly recalls seeing movies at the Crandell both as a parent and during her own childhood. “It was always a rite of passage when you were old enough to be able to attend your first movie on your own with your friends,” she recalls.
“We are very excited to have Susan join the Board,” says Chatham Film Club President Fred Ulrich. “Her years of experience working with non-profits and her strong roots in our community will be invaluable assets to the Film Club.”
The Chatham Film Club, a 501(c)(3) member-supported non-profit, is proud owner/operator of the historic Crandell Theatre on Chatham’s Main Street and producer of the popular FilmColumbia Festival each October.
